Contest Entry: Phil

Ok, well as you can probably guess from the title, the character I chose to draw was Phil. I suppose what intrigued me the most about the character was the murder of his wife. It got me thinking more about the psychological effect of such an event. The image I gained was that of a man slowly wasting away, forgetting to take care of himself and desperately trying not to remember the past. I tried to reflect this in the way I portrayed him; ragged clothes, unkempt hair and bare feet, as well as the environment we find him in.

I would like to think of the image as one of the moments where he has let his guard down and shown weakness. Perhaps the setting is a place he and his wife used to visit, now run down and a victim of urban decay. But you see what you want to I found this pretty fun to do... after a few attempts haha ^^
